The club looked back over the past year and celebrated the many achievements of its riders, and also looked to the future with the presentation and launch of our sister club - TRCC. Thanks to members, parents and supporters for coming along, and thanks to Rhian and all those who helped to organise the evening.

At the recent cyclo-cross event in Carmarthen Park the club was fortunate to welcome a distinguished spectator, Mr Brian Edwards, former General Secretary of the Welsh Cycling Union, who was prominent in organising track cycle races in Carmarthen in the seventies. Here he is joined in conversation by fellow local cycling legend and Club Chairman Tim Jones where they discuss Towy Riders and cycling in general, with some fascinating insights into the history of Carmarthen Park Velodrome. The interview was arranged by Carmarthen and District Talking Newspaper For The Blind, and you can listen to it using the controls below.
Also pictured is Brian Edwards in the park with Mayor and Mayoress, Alan and Stephanie Speake whose grandson Thomas is an up and coming member of Towy Riders.

Some great results from the Tywyn Crits on July 31st (sorry if I've missed anyone):
Josh got the bronze medal in the Under 8s with Dyfan also riding really well, and Owain got the silver medal in the Under 10s.
Nick unfortunately crashed in the warm up, but gained valuable experience in his first race in a Towy Riders jersey.
In a very competitive race: Will, Scott and Dan achieved great results in the Under 16 with Will just nipping in to the top 10.
In the seniors our 2nd cat. Michael Tarling rode well and got 11th in the E/1/2 event for 5 valuable ranking points. He comments: "If I’d been more awake I would have gone with the 4 man break that went at two thirds distance!". Thanks also to Michael for the photos.

Congratulations to all Towy Riders who competed in the Aber Seafront Criteriums. A great turn out from the club turned Aberystwyth Prom into a sea of red and gold, with Towy Riders dominating the youth events, and with representation in all races right up to Senior. The tight winding circuit and blustery wind provided challenging conditions for all riders, but produced a great evening of racing; so thanks to all riders and parents for their support and also to the organisers Ystwyth Cycling Club. Please see the photos; and results.

Well done to Towy Rider William Worrall and ex Towy Rider Luke Cornish in recording the joint fastest time in the 64 mile route at the Tour of Pembrokeshire on June 13th.

Towy Rider Owen James from Ferryside displayed awesome climbing power at the Welsh Hill Climb Championship on Sunday 28th September. The course was a lung-busting climb up the Black Mountain and Owen's remarkable performance shows great potential for the future.
